Mecklenburger Kartoffelveredlung GMBH (MKV)
Mecklenburger Kartoffelveredlung GmbH (MKV) was established in 1970 in Hagenow,
a town in the former German Democratic Republic, for the production of French fries
and potato flakes. Initially, the company specialized in the production of French
fries for Eastern Germany (in 1978 the production capacity was 700 kg/hour on four
production lines) but the reunification of Germany at the beginning of the 1990s
heralded a new era for MKV. Economic considerations led to the production of French
fries being phased out and the company subsequently concentrated exclusively on
the manufacture of dried potato products.
