In order to avoid loss of quality by discoloration or loss of moisture, fresh fruit - e.g. apple slices - has to undergo treatment after segmentation. The coating machines used in this connection come from FTNON. The coating medium comes from Agricoat Industries Ltd in the UK. Their edible coating, NatureSeal, is the perfect complement to FTNON's coating machines, according to the Product Development Manager at Agricoat.

Mecklenburger Kartoffelveredlung GMBH (MKV)

Mecklenburger Kartoffelveredlung GmbH (MKV) was established in 1970 in Hagenow, a town in the former German Democratic Republic, for the production of French fries and potato flakes. Initially, the company specialized in the production of French fries for Eastern Germany (in 1978 the production capacity was 700 kg/hour on four production lines) but the reunification of Germany at the beginning of the 1990s heralded a new era for MKV. Economic considerations led to the production of French fries being phased out and the company subsequently concentrated exclusively on the manufacture of dried potato products.

FTNON involved in Premier Foods factory reorganisation

Premier Foods has its roots in ambient food processing. Over the course of time, however, the number of items it produces has been considerably increased. With a range of products running from peanut butter, pickles, preserves to canned vegetables, powdered drinks and teas. The company is one of the largest processed food manufacturers in Great Britain. FTNON recently played a key role during the reorganisation of one of Premier Foods processing plants.

Les Crudettes – a client to be proud of

Les Crudettes SA is one of the big players in the European food products market in the field of ready-to-eat, fresh salads and vegetables. As such, the company is the second largest in France. Project for GRO Industrier AS in Norway

GRO Industrier AS in Tønsberg is one of the leading producers of potato products in Norway.

In collaboration with GRO, FTNON developed and manufactured a large part of the new production system for French fries. Of this, FTNON supplied the three-stage blanching installation and the drying system, and the preparation line, including the washers.

Royal Zeelandia ready in time for the Christmas rush

New blancher keeps production of almond paste running smoothly

Royal Zeelandia of Zierikzee, in the Dutch province of Zeeland, manufactures and distributes bakery ingredients. The production line for (almond) paste had to be expanded with an additional blancher. In consultation with FTNON, a concept was defined to extend the existing line. The new production line was ready well in time for the annual Christmas rush.

France Champignon: a world leader in the market

France Champignon is the second largest player in the world market for mushrooms. Eighty percent of the business is the property of a French investment fund and twenty percent is owned by the local mushroom farmers. The co-operative owns various production centres for mushrooms situated on farms and in cellars. Of course, France Champignon also has an advanced logistics centre and factories where the mushrooms are processed according to the wishes of the client. Culivers Eindhoven steams ahead to 8100

Culivers Eindhoven prepares ready-to-eat meals, components and soups for various target groups including the elderly, works canteens, prisons, the catering trade and self-service wholesalers. The share of the latter group rose sharply when Sligro took over the business in 2006. The demand for potatoes and vegetables climbed steeply but in the existing facility there was no space for growth, so Culivers built an additional 5500 m2 on to the existing 2600 m2 and FTNON developed an energy efficient line which performs better in steaming and cooling.
