FTNON Slicing system

for fresh salads

Salads need great care and attention being both delicate and of high value. Good lasting cut products require both optimum hygienic and product-friendly preparation conditions and processes. Together with some leading companies in the salad industry Food Technology Noord-Oost Nederland B.V. (FTNON) has developed a completely new system for slicing a large variety of salads.

A perfectly sliced product

Until now salads were sliced with the help of rotating slicing wheels, with high speed. In this case the forces exerted on the product are very high. Through this the possiblility arises that the product will be damaged or bruised. However, the new slicing machine of FTNON has oscillating knives which slice the salad products with high speed. Hardly any forces are exerted on the products. The salad is brought fully controlled to the knife section by conveyor belts. At this section it is sliced by mechanically driven knives, which move quickly up- and downwards. The slicing edge is sharp.

Advantages for the product

With this new system the risk of damages or bruises is considerably reduced. The result is a perfectly sliced product, on which is exerted hardly any force. Visually attractive. Elevated quality to the point of consumption with prolonging freshness.

Technical benefits

During the slicing process you can see very well what is exactly happening. In respect of technique there are following benefits. Long-life knives which need to be sharpened less often and which can be easily put in and taken out.

Of course the complete system can be simply cleaned.
