FTNON High-pressure washer

for potatoes

Potatoes are growing in various kinds of soil which – depending on the quality – can be washed easily or with difficulty from the product. The high-pressure washer of FTNON guarantees that each kind of soil can be washed from the potato. Also the eyes of the potato are fully clean so that automatic colour sorting is possible.

The installation consists of a pre-washing/soaking screw, a high-pressure washing compartment with – as an option – a blow-off or disinfection section. The process water runs in counter flow through the installation. The potatoes are fed through the infeed hopper of the soaking screw. The screw transports the potatoes upwards, against the water flow. Then the products arrive on a roller bed above and under which special nozzles are mounted, which are fed by a high quality high-pressure pump.

All the water is collected centrally. If desired, a water recycling system can be offered (option), through which the water consumption is reduced to a minimum. Cleaning of the installation can take place in a very easy way. The necessary maintenance is minimal.
