FTNON Continuous hydration system
for mushrooms
This system of Food Technology Noord-Oost Nederland B.V. (FTNON) is used for the hydration of mushrooms in a continuous production process, without making use of trays or pallets. Unlike the pallet hydration installation, the continuous hydration system is in-line.
The mushrooms are contained in a buffer reservoir and are transported to the hydration section by means of an infeed belt. During the hydration of the mushrooms the buffer reservoir is filled for the next cycle. After the hydration process the hydration section is emptied into a second buffer reservoir. From this reservoir conveyor belts transfer the mushrooms to the following processing station. The process is fully automatic. The desired process parameters, such as hydration times, aeration times, waiting periods, vacuum level etc. can be completely independently set. In this way a constant, equal treatment of the mushrooms is guaranteed. Furthermore, the chance of product damage is limited to a minimum.
